This workshop will contain an overview of how IPC and AMS teams can work effectively together in order to improve care for patients. Examples of excellent work to reduce Gram-negative bloodstream infections will be showcased to highlight how these can be implemented across systems.
Gaynor is the clinical lead for the National Gram-negative reduction programme at NHS Improvement. She as worked in infection prevention and control since 1997 and has held a number of Regional roles including Head of IPC in the North of England with NHS Improvement, Programme lead for HCAI in West Midlands SHA and Regional HCAI lead in Health Protection Agency.
She qualified as a nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and a Midwife in Shropshire before setting up the first community and Public Health IPC service in Dudley in the West Midlands
